Tomorrow, Tuesday April 5 is an important day to be present at two local Asheville community meetings.
First, at 4:30pm at 30 Valley Street, Buncombe County Commissioner's Meeting, where URTV funding issues will be addressed. Come and show your support for the only local access TV station and our WNC Community Media Center. This is a valuable resource in our community and is accessible to everyone in Buncombe county as a media channel everyday people can contribute programming to. It enriches the fabric of our community and I'd love to see you there.
Then...
on to UNCA...WNC is on the table as part of Barack Obama's Blue Ribbon Commission exploring where to put lots of dangerous waste from nuclear fuel production. Years ago, people in Sandy Mush joined together to keep nuclear waste out and it's time to stand together again, especially in light of the horrible situation unfolding in Japan and our clear inability to control this dangerous form of energy generation.
